As Snipe Creek continues to ramp up the
2013 trail cam survey, and as the bucks antlers
also continue to ramp up in growth and size, an
apparent fact has quickly developed: 2013 will
be the best opportunity for mature buck
sightings and kills in Western Kentucky, for out
of state hunters, that the state has ever seen.
Fact: the hot weather of the 2012 season, and
the high winds of the 2011 season resulted in an
extremely high survival rate of bucks, and now
the nutrient rich foraging, created by the wet
tropical rain forest / jungle like conditions of
2013, has created a great year to be at Snipe
Creek for the 2013 season. The quantity and age
structure combined, of mature bucks at Snipe
Creek, in true Western Kentucky has soared.
